Trying To Heal

Why Me? Why not me. Bad things happen to good people all the time. It's how we deal with the bad things that makes us who we are.

Swear word...

If I was the swearing type, I'd be swearing. Actually, I think that the feelings behind the swearing are what should be avoided. Swear words themselves are generally only considered "bad" because of the definitions given to them by society. Most swear words are generally benign words in their original sense.

Anyway...

It seems like having the hurt and anger about the pornography and the lying is making it harder for me to NOT get angry about other things too. I really don't want his problem to lead me to my own problems, so I'm trying to be nice. I just am not feeling it right now...

I know it is tough, but you are doing right. Corrie Ten Boom and her whole family did time in a concentration camp in WWII because they hid Jews from the Nazis. Years later, the guard that beat, raped, and eventually killed her sister approached her. He told her that he had become a Christian and that he was there to beg her forgiveness. She gave it to him. She lied. She didn't feel forgiveness for him, but she said it because she knew it was what she should do. As she spent time later telling herself that she forgave him and contemplating it, she eventually felt that forgiveness for him. Was she dishonest? No, she wanted to forgive him, she just didn't feel it. Sometimes, there is power in knowing that we are doing what we should even when we don't feel it. This has definitely been my experience. Keep pressing on. Stay Strong.

Hey Soph,

Just checking back in to see if you had anything new. I thought you might find this humorous. Because your husband's name is Te, it effects the "Next Blog" function when it gets clicked. I clicked "Next Blog" three times, and every single time, it was a blog in Spanish (being that "te" is one of the Spanish forms of "you"). Kinda funny.
Take care.
